steppin.

right now i am watching pretty woman. it is one of my FAVORITE movies, richard gere and julia roberts are beautiful together. lately great movies have been coming on tv. the other night i got hooked on sleepless in seattle, another classic romantic. tom hanks and meg ryan are also great together, maybe i just have a thing for movies that have repeating couples in them..
tonight lynnlee and i attempted step class at the rec, and it was no walk in the park. let me tell you, that junk is intense. for being a stepping newbie it was hard to follow the instructor and she would say official stepping commands like waterfall, starburst, rotating door, etc. i had no heck of a clue what was going on. the maybe 2 steps i did get was fun and a workout, i just wish i could have known what was going on.

i just dropped my sociology class, THANK GOODNESS! i feel so relieved to have dropped that course. i don't think i could have handled it a semester. and now i have the swedish psychology professor twice a day, yay!
one day till the weekend!

by the wayside.

as to no one's surprise blogging has fallen by the wayside the past few days. with the best of blogging intentions i came back to school and i still haven't managed a post.

here's to some random thoughts:

i feel like the ives has been renovated. besides the stanky stank from the leak, the ives is stylin' after the break. we got new couch pillows, 2 candle holders (thanks to staley, i love them girl), a wicker basket (still need the decorative sticks, but the basket is there) and... a new little sign for the kitchen where a seasonal wreath previously hung. lynnlee also gave me tonight some new brown and blue monogrammed towels, which i LOVE! love love love monogrammed things!

television. lets talk about the tube. i skipped exercise yesterday to watch a show talking about the drama of another show i watch. fitness was sacrificed for bachelor drama, puhh-lease. that's not like me, i used to never watch television..ever. but, today i got out and had a nice jog and mini trampoline session. that makes up for it right?

school. classes are different this semester, well obviously but i'm not sure that i am a fan of my new classes. tuesdays and thursdays i love, computer and psychology. mwf, well they aren't my fav. my sociology professor is about 109 years old, bless his heart. he mumbles, and softly at that. he doesn't seem to have a plan of what he is saying..no lecture notes, not a power point, no nothing he kinda just randomly says whatever he is thinking. it's not my favorite, but i will deal. i enjoy lit, but the class is discussion oriented and anyone who knows me at all, knows this is my least favorite. and the world, nations, and regions class is fairly interesting but all history. anyway, enough of this pessimistic polly attitude, school has just started and has the potential to be great so fingers are crossed.

this song spoke to me tonight.

Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments, and my days,
let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands and let them move
at Thy impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing
always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold
not a mite I would withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as You choose.

Take my will and make it Thine
it should my no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own
it shall be Thy royal throne
Take my love, my Lord I pour
at Your feet its treasure store
Take myself and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee.
Take myself and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee.

happy hump day. 2 days till the weekend.
possibly pictures on a post tomorrow? picture-less posts are boring, i know.

finished!

this morning i got up at 6:45 and that in itself was a difficult task. then i suited up and ran the red nose run (explains the red clown nose). jamie g ran it with me, and we had a freezing good ol' time. i forgot my camera at the actual race, or i would have put a picture of the both of us!
after the race, i worked on my bathroom art project. and i FINSIHED. and don't worry, i treated myself, but more on that later. i used blues and browns (obviously) to match my bathroom colors for my tuscaloosa apartment. nothing but scrapbooking paper, and some modpodge!
and this is the finished product! i got the inspiration (as blogged earlier) from a scrapbook paper cross, but i already have a cross painiting in my bathroom so i decided to go with flowers!

tonight for the last dinner with the parentals we went to surin. i have developed a major LOVE for surin. i ate WAY too much for dinner, and then even worse we got desert to take home. and somehow i managed to eat all of that too. so technically, i guess i finished 3 things today, not that i'm proud of the latter.
happy weekend, im too full to continue typing.
ps- this really deserves an entire blog post but.. leap year the movie. go see it, and take me with you because i would gladly go again. it was precious and im pretty sure matthew goode is my husband. yes, i know i am now 13 with a legit crush on a celebrity. hope they make posters of him...

snow and english muffins.

i would not be surprised if you opened your eyes to this tomorrow. just kidding. its not like its 1993 or anything. i know james spann is probably hitting his knees in prayer for snow, since there is usually a big hype for nothing! i hope we see a few flurries though, snow is pretty and with all the cold weather we deserve atleast an inch.
an unrelated note.
hello, new obsession. i had one of these little suckers (pictured below) at the cheesecake factory last sunday after church, and i am addicted. they are a healthy option for the bread obsessed. the kind i bought at wal mart are mulit-grain, only 100 calories, no fat, and 25 carbs. i give a big heck yes to that! put a little chesse on this, throw it in the toaster..mm, mm goood.
happy snow day everyone.
build frosty, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy an english muffin. ..or atleast thats my plan.

today in a cutesie boutique i saw a modpodged canvas and i immediately got inspiration! i am going to hob lob asap to get a canvas and the appropriate colors of scrapbooking paper i will need! this is a good project for me, because number one, i know how to modpodge, and number two it should be a fairly quick project. if i am honest with myself, my motivation to finish long projects dwindles down FAST. just ask my roommate lynnlee, and our table i half-way finished! but get ready apartment bathroom you are about to get much cuter! i will post pictures when i finish. and i WILL finish!

tomorrow i am going here..

to get a massage. i love getting massages, and ross bridge is especially nice because they give 20% off to locals on mondays and tuesdays (and possibly wednesdays), and they let you use all of their amenities for the entire day..hot tub, indoor/outdoor pool, etc. not a bad deal!! yay giftcards, can't ever go wrong with one to here!

my run today was terrible. this is going to be a hard journey of training. i am putting too much pressure on myself to soon. but i am going to keep on going for it! i just have to remember the poem my middle and high school cross country coach read us:

if you think you are beaten, you are

if you think you dare not, you wont

if you'd like to win, but think you can't

its almost certain you won't.

if you think you'll lose, you've lost

for out in the world you'll find

success begins with a fellow's will

IT'S ALL IN THE STATE OF MIND.

for many a game is lost

ere even a play is run

and many a coward fails

ere even his work begun.

think BIG and your deeds will GROW

think small and you'll fall behind

think that you CAN and you WILL

IT'S ALL IN THE STATE OF MIND

if you think you are outclassed, you are

you've got to think high to rise

you've got to be sure of yourself

before you can ever win a prize.

life's battles don't always go

to the stronger or faster man

but sooner or late the man who wins

is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!

a bee in my bonnet.

i now have a buzzing bee in my bonnet to run a half marathon. i decided this yesterday when i was running the track at the nice warm gym. when i ran from my house to star lake, up and down huge hills in 27 degree weather i was a little more skeptical of this decision. but the end result of running is the best, nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment. and since i am motivated now, i think i might as well act on the motivation and give it a shot. im running a 5k (red nose run) on saturday when the high is 26, and low is 17. woooo. i dont even remember what it feels like to run in normal temperatures.

it is FREEZING outside. the highest temp i saw today was 28. what the heck? thats frigid. talullah is not fan of the cold weather. she shivers when she gets close to the door, so we bought her a corduroy jacket. yes we are now one of "those families".

look at that miss fancy nancy posing. and also, that jacket has legit pockets. like what is a dog going to keep in their pocket? their chapstick and money? whatever, we were impressed and i stuck her toy in their for cargo for the time being.

tonight was oatmeal monday. and while munching on my oats, i watched the bachelor by the fire (LOVE the fire). what was that show? the girls were pathetic, desperate, and idiotic. jake, good luck to you..i would just quit while you are ahead. the show was ridiculous, i was embarassed for all of those bimbos. and what was up with jill and ed's guest appearance? like jake's not big boy enough to make his own decisions about HIS "wife"?

i also watched the tyra show today and it was on the topic of hazing. it is not okay. there are no exceptions. it pains me to know this goes on at my campus.

2 more random thoughts: my car went in to be fixed today! yay! and also.. i really want to see the movie leap year.

2010 is here.

2010 is here! i had a great new years night with some of my favorite ladies from school! lake martin was beautiful and our cabin was so nice. i did not have the highest expectations for the cabin, and i was pleasantly surprised. while we were there we walked the park, built a legit fire (no easy task), ate s'mores (what else?), and ate dinner at sinclairs. i loved sinclairs! it was a restaurant on the lake, so you could trust the seafood and my parmesean crusted trout was delicious.
right before midnight we all made a "bucket list" for 2010, of 20 things we wanted to do in this year. mine turned in to being 25, and i am excited! some of my things are small but still things i want to do. for example some are: watch gone with the wind (i have never seen it), play frisbee on the quad, try depalmas (restaurant in ttown), try 5 new recipes, run atleast 2 more 5ks, etc...
one thing i learned from the trip was how to set my self timer. yay! i have been wondering how to do that for a while, and it comes in handy. since my personal photographer could not make it to capture all my kodak moments, self timer was what i forced to resort too.
my new year is off to a great start, here is to a fun filled 2010 everyone!
