bookworm.

I went to the library last week on a whim, to check out some Swtiz books and just see what grabbed my ("judging a book by its cover") attention. Well lucky for me I grabbed Emily Griffin's, Something Borrowed, and I loved it. I got the large print version, and it was 531 pages and I finished it in 2 days. TWO days, yall. That is so not me. I know those of you that have been doing this whole reading for pleasure thing forever find this appauling. But, the truth is when I thought about my favorite book my automatic response was Number the Stars. Okay, I'm sure that was a great 4th grade read, but it was time for me to step it up.

And now it is being made into a movie with Kate Husdon! Ummm....score.

I went to the library again today to browse and pick up another read. Well, I got 3.
1. To Kill a Mockingbird- I think I liked this one in highschool
2. Can You Keep A Secret?- Think I've also read this before, but started it today and liking it.
3. It Takes Time.- Looks questionable, but I'll keep an open mind.

Does anyone have some reading suggestions for the rest of the summer, I am determined to stand firm in not joining the Twilight or Harry Potter bandwagon but other than that I'm open to anything!

tidbit tuesday.

Alliteration blog titles. I feel like my creativity is limited to coming up with a themed title that consists of words that start with the same letter. Ex: Tidbit Tuesday.

AT&T has the best commercials. THE BEST, I tell you. I literally saw one without knowing the product being advertised and said "I want whatever they are selling". I was heartbroken when I realized I already have At&T.

I can be a really terrible long distance friend (just ask Garrett). This problem would probably get slightly better if I took my phone off of vibrate and actually hear it when it rings.

I was around horses for the first time in years this past Saturday. This made me want to ride again. It also reminded me of my younger days when I would search the classified section of the newspaper each week to buy a horse with my "saved change". And I really thought this was feasible. Oh, to be young again!

I love Roberto, Kirk, and Craig from Cape Cod on the Bachlorette. Ali looks good with all of them, but my money is on Roberto. PLEASE don't spill the beans if you've read the spoilers.

I don't think I would eat any of Jimmy Dean's breakfast products, if someone paid me. That sausage biscuit and breakfast bowl makes me want to puke just seeing it on television.

The older I get, the younger I think I am.

I love it when Talullah (my sweet dog) sits up like a little person.

I want to start a collection of Toms (shoes..not men named Tom), and stamps (not the postage kind).

Three things that are the bomb dot com: HGTV, David Tutera, and David Bromstad.

We are debating on New Orleans, or Nashville for our family vacation weekend. This is first time we have not been to Hilton Head in 10 years.

And this concludes my random tidbits.
Happy rainy week! I have loved it.

dear warm months, i love you.

5 things I love about summer:
1. The smell of freshly cut grass.
2. The sight of little kiddos playing the yard, riding bikes, having lemonade stands, etc.
3. Hearing the song "Redneck Yacht Club" on the radio. Country is always better in the summertime.
4. The icecream man.
5. Lightning bugs.

Clearly I also love summer because I am not studying, the only material I am reading includes blogs, magazines, and choice books, and lastly the only events I pencil in my calendar are FUN!

Although I begin each day with, "My! It's humid today" or "Geeze, its hot out here" (Literally, I say one of these two phrases e-v-e-r-yday) I would not trade these warm months for anything. Before college I had no appreciation for warm weather, but after treking from my dorm Shelby in 30 degree weather my freshman year, I vowed I would rejoice in sweat from now on. And that is what I have done (well, for the most part).

Since we spoke last I have been..
1. Rejoicing in the fact that we have air conditioning again.
2. Watching A LOT of movies. When I say a lot, I mean A LOT.
3. To the SEC tournament to cheer on the Crimson Tiders.

4. Sketched out on a 5k race with Lynnlee.
5. Visited dreamcakes bakery in Homewood with the rooms.
6. Tried to tube the Cahaba, and FAILED twice.

7. Working at the church, and becoming a copy making PRO. That's right PRO.
8. Walking around Star Lake and the hood.
9. Re-reading the Ragamuffin Gospel.

10. Watching the Bachlorette.

Hope everyone is loving these warm months as much as I am!
